Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Class 6 Admission 2025 : Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Committee has invited online application for admission to Class 6 for the academic year 2025-26 in various Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) located across India. By applying this application you can take the entrance exam. NVS conducts an entrance exam for it. The name of the entrance exam is Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST–2025). Eligibility : Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Class 6 Admission 2025

  • (a) Admission of candidate to class VI in a JNV is district specific. A candidate who is studying class V in a district is allowed to apply for admission to JNV in the same district only. Only the bonafide resident candidates from the district concerned where the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya has been located and studying class V in the same district are eligible to apply for admission to JNVs through JNVST. The valid residential proof as notified by Govt. of India of the parent of the same district where the candidate has studied class V and appeared for the JNVST is to be submitted by the provisionally selected candidate at the time of admission. However, if the district where JNV is opened is bifurcated at a later date, the old boundaries of the district are considered for the purpose of eligibility for admission into JNVST, in case a new Vidyalaya is not opened in the newly bifurcated district yet.
  • (b) Candidate has to reside in the district where he/she is seeking admission in the JNV located in the same District. Bonafide residence certificate of the parent is to be submitted at the time of verification of documents after the provisional selection.
  • (c) Candidate has to study class V in any of the Govt. or Govt. recognized schools located in the same District during 2024-25.

Rural Candidates :

  • A) At least 75% of the seats in a district will be filled by candidates provisionally selected from rural areas of the district. The remaining seats are open which will be filled on merit from both Urban and Rural Area candidates of the district as per selection criteria.
  • B) A candidate seeking admission under the rural quota must have studied in Classes-III, IV and V completing full academic session from the Government/ Government Aided/Government recognized schools located in rural areas. However, the candidate should study full academic session under rural area in Class-V from the same district where admission is being sought.
  • C) Candidates studying under the schemes of National Institute of Open Schooling should produce their rural status certificate issued by District Magistrate/Tehsildar/Block Development Officer indicating that the child has been residing & studied in rural areas for the last three years.

Urban Candidate :

  • A candidate who has studied in a school located in an urban area even for a single day of session in Class-III, IV and V will be considered as an urban candidate. Urban areas are those which are so defined by any Government notifications on the last date of submission of application for JNVST registration. All other areas will be considered as rural.
